Hello,
We hope this letter finds you and your loved ones safe, despite the recent flooding here in Louisiana.
At Gulf South Technology Solutions, our current priority is helping your business recover from this natural disaster. Our company has the necessary industry experience, including navigating through, and soundly dealing with, the aftermath of unforeseen circumstances; with these skills, we can to help lessen your burden and assist with your business’ recovery. After disaster strikes, many are unsure of where to start and what to do in regards to their business and its assets. We have compiled a small lists of do’s and don’ts for handling your company’s devices after a disaster such as ours:
- If you do not have power, unplug your servers, computers and any other network related items. (Switch & Firewall)
- If you do have power, and your servers and computers are not working and they contain critical data, bring them to our office and we will attempt to recover the data from the affected drives.
- Do not go to the big “box stores” and buy the cheapest computers you can find, especially if they are running Windows “Home.” They will not work on your business network and it can cost $300-500 to be upgraded to Windows Professional.
- If your office flooded and is in the process of drying out, and the computers are not on, do not plug them in to see if they are still functioning. You could cause more damage and lose your critical data.
We offer temporary workspace in our office for your server and key employees whether you are a client of ours or not.
